I was craving waffles, but I wasn't sure if I dared attempt to make them for myself. Thank you, Uriel.

[looks ever so vaguely embarrassed to be thanked so publicly] I would not want you to starve and waffles are easy enough to make. And they are not pancakes. [he says the last with what may be a wink]

At least we were able to clean up the mess and there was no lasting damage. If you like, I can try making them again for you some time.

On the upside, if you DID manage to make a sink full of soapy water explode, at least it would make cleaning the rest of the kitchen easier.

Thank you. I promise to not dirty all the dishes in the kitchen. [oh look, is that a smirk?]

[attempts to look innocent] I was only offering to make a full breakfast. Pancakes, hash browns, toast, perhaps ham or bacon or maybe even sausage, biscuits and even muffins if you like, sliced fruit, fresh squeezed orange juice... [he continues ticking items off on his fingers]

You can always take any leftovers home with you... if you promise to wash all the dishes.

Would you like blueberry or carrot muffins? Perhaps something sweeter, like chocolate? I could also make banana nut bread if you like.

[at this rate, the turkey baster is the only thing in the kitchen that will be clean once he's done]

[:3] Well, if you spend all day working in the fields, breakfast tends to be the most important meal. And I would be glad to make a little bit of everything for you; you can always freeze the bread and muffins and warm them up later. ...You CAN manage to reheat things without burning down the kitchen, can't you?

(yeah, so that comment about Uriel not being teasing compared to Uri? so much for that.)

[frowns a bit] I suppose I can send you home with a few leftovers, enough to make sure you eat properly for a week or so without the food spoiling. The ham, at least, would make for perfectly good sandwiches even if cold. I swear, Gabriel, I will some day teach you how to cook without property destruction occurring.

Are you the one who made the waffles? Gabriel sent me one; it was delicious.

(Hope you don't mind me more or less jumping in like this. Will delete if you do, though. This goes to both you and Roobi <3)

[more compliments? he can't decide whether to be proud or embarrassed] Ah, yes. That was me. [ducks his head shyly] I am glad you enjoyed it, I am quite fond of that recipe.

(Not a problem at all, as long as you don't mind Uriel being incredibly awkward. :D)

Well, I did, and I'm glad I managed to pay my compliments in person.

[offers a hand] Anyway, uh - I really should introduce myself. I'm Sylix, and despite my current appearance, I'm actually a dragon.

(<3! Not that anyone can blame the poor guy. Sylix does appreciate the food though, she's been world-hopping a bit too much not to.)

[wraps her hand in both of his and bows] I am Uriel, Gabriel's brother. I must admit, I have never met a dragon before.

(♥! And Uriel does so love cooking though he wonders how he would feed a dragon. And apologies for my slow replies, I'm at work at the moment.)

There's a first time for everything, although I must say I've been running into a lot of angels of late.

Hm.

I wonder why?

(Normally. She's in human form, and Sylix will try anything, anyway. Except Gabriel's cooking. Don't worry about the slow replies!)

[frowns] I must admit, I do not know. The only one of my brothers and sisters I have seen here has been Gabriel.  Well, and Lucifer.

Better angels than demons, I would think.

(Yes, but he is pondering how he would feed a dragon in dragon-form, should the situation ever arise. And I wouldn't call what Gabriel does in the kitchen "cooking".)

I met a demon, once. It was not an entertaining experience.

And to be absolutely frank, even around the angels, I mostly try to find myself 1) a good pair of earmuffs; 2) a place to sleep that is decently far away from them so I don't have to hear the sounds of... serious anything.

(With a great deal of difficulty, no doubt. Actually, a few horses would do the trick, and he wouldn't have to cook them.

My university evidently does - did Roobi tell you about the incendiary cupcakes? We're both convinced Gabriel made them.)

From: [identity profile] divine-tempest.livejournal.com
I have seen and slain far more demons than I care to remember. Many were once my brothers. It never has been and never will be entertaining.

But never mind that. Earmuffs? Around angels? Why? I do admit to singing from time to time, perhaps more often than I should, but I would not think it that disturbing.

(But he *likes* cooking! He asks if he can at least season the horses first. Maybe figure out a way to marinate them...

She's telling me right now. I'm surprised your university is still standing if Gabriel was involved.)

glacialphoenix: (sylix)

Well ... [winces] Michael's singing is that disturbing, but it isn't the singing I have objections to. Most of the time.

It's just. After... how many millennia? Michael and Gabriel appear to be making up for lost time. They're both rather... loud.

(That's up to him. She'll definitely appreciate good food.

Well, I highly doubt they were made in my university. The actual location where they were produced, however...)

[he's completely confused by that - the idea of sex rarely (see also: never) enters his mind] Making up for lost time? I am afraid I am not certain as to what you are hinting at.

(And now he's pondering how to marinate a horse and wondering if he could miracle an entire pond into wine.

XD)

[long silence]

Perhaps it would suffice to say that Michael in particular insists on expressing his opinions of everyone and everything very loudly and vocally. Even topics which might be better off not discussed in public.

Er. Yes.

(Poor Sylix. Hers must be the only 'verse in which Gabriel got sick of river cruises in Egypt. She gets the brunt of it. They really are very loud.

I have no idea how you'd marinate a horse, unfortunately, so he'll have to figure that one out himself. My cooking skills are better than Gabriel's - but that's only because I haven't exploded anything yet.)

Date: 2010-07-27 01:48 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] divine-tempest.livejournal.com
[frowns] Michael was always rather heavy-handed in the things he did and never missed an opportunity to express his opinions. You have my sympathies. May I suggest using a sledgehammer? That might get through his thick skull.

(Uriel doesn't exactly have a good history with Michael and cannot quite figure out what Gabriel sees in him. I'm sure spending any considerable amount of time with [livejournal.com profile] angelofawesome would break his brain.

My cooking skills are decent, but nowhere near as impressive as Uriel's. If anyone can figure out how to marinate an entire horse (or small herd of horses), it would be him.)

whoops, typo

A sledgehammer sounds like an excellent idea.

Now, here's hoping it actually works.

(I think any amount of time with [info]angelofawesome would do at least some damage to people's brains. Or at least their heads. I'm surprised none of my characters who've met him have forehead injuries from headdesking; he tends to make them facepalm a LOT.)

He has quite the reach though, which makes any sort of direct attack rather difficult. Perhaps you should arrange for some sort of distraction first and then attempt education via blunt-force trauma.

(Uriel has already suffered at least one concussion thanks to Michael. Head-desking would be relatively gentle in comparison, though I think the resulting headache would be no less painful.)

I like that idea. I can drop it on him from above while he's distracted. Hmm.

But then again, we're supposed to co-author stuff. By which I mean I do the writing and he annoys me into adding lines about how awesome he is.

(Oh dear. Poor Uriel.)

"How awesome he is"? [facepalm] Has he been spending time in Lucifer's company lately?

(Uriel should have known better than to let himself be distracted while sparring with Michael. At least he had Gabriel and Raphael to take care of him afterward.)

...bad... romance...? I do not want to know.

(I am normally reluctant to share my writing - oh, the anxiety! - but for reference: the concussion incident (http://divine-tempest.livejournal.com/12586.html) was for one of [livejournal.com profile] cattygabriel's prompts. And I was so thrilled to find a facepalm picture - it has been used far more than I expected.)

Those words turned up quite often, yes.

They need to make dragon-size earmuffs. I know I really wished I had some.

Plus they would come in handy when Michael asks embarrassing questions.

(OH dear. And don't worry about your writing; I think you write beautifully! For reference as well: co-authorship and embarrassing questions.

Facepalm pictures are always handy!)

Have you tried the little things the humans put in their ears? The ones with the music? Not that I would call some of that noise music, but... I do not know if it would solve the problem - I doubt one can actually solve Michael - but maybe it would help?

(Aw, thank you! *blush* And my version of Michael isn't really that bad, Uriel just thinks he is. Raphael, Gabriel and even pre-Fall Lucifer are quite fond of him, granite skull and all.

Anyone who has to deal with Michael or Lucifer - or, God forbid, the two of them together - needs a facepalm picture.)

[puzzled] Little things with music? I... don't think I've seen them around.

Maybe it's because of the world-hopping. Little things with music tend to pale into insignificance when you've got bigger things to deal with, like things that want to kill you.

(Awwww.

And, yes. We're agreed on that one. I can't really decide who suffers more facepalm damage from Michael. I mean, Sylix facepalms a lot, but then so do I. Obviously Gabriel trumps us both, though.)

And I'm a way better cook than Gabriel.

Yeah.

I never said you were stupid.

I'm personally of the opinion that trying to stop you is like trying to stop the sun, and far more irritating.

I'm personally of the opinion that your singing ability is best not described in print.

And it is a cold hard fact that you ask embarrassing questions.

But I did not call you stupid.
