Female!Gabriel with Michael!

I was working on the bodice-ripper spoof featuring Princess Gabriel and Michael as a dashing gentleman pirate. And apparently a very useful procrastination tool for writing is creating cover art on Photoshop instead. Apologies to Dita von Teese, Simon Baker and Marilyn Manson.

This took me FOREVER. This is the original for Dita and this is the original for Simon Baker. Plus I hadn't yet figured out the new Photoshop on my Mac. I ended up deleting about six or seven disembodied Michael heads, all after spending ages tweaking the angle and elongating the neck and everything (yes, I know it's still too long now). Then I decided to try hiding that by giving him more hair, since it was quite short and dark, so I basically redrew all his curls, added a lot more, and then coloured them a slightly lighter shade.

This is the original Dita von Teese picture, and this is the original Simon Baker picture. I can't find the backdrop again. >< I thought this one would be fairly simple, but then there was Manson's hand on DIta's waist to consider, and the slightly different angles and all. Had to crop out Michael's right arm and then add in the sleeve so it looks like he's holding Gabriel, and then I had to erase his left hand, fix his suit and go find a black satin glove and edit that to fit. They still look uneven. XD Also gave him more and thicker hair and lengthened Gabriel's. [livejournal.com profile] halosphere  thinks I should add wings, too. And yet it still took much less time than the first one.

I'm a bit annoyed by their colour difference - Gabriel is supposed to be pale while Michael is tanned but this is a bit too much! XD I can't seem to edit layers separately on this new Photoshop; I try to edit the lighting for Michael's layer and the lighting for everything is changed. >< I might poke at this one again using the older Photoshop in my netbook. Colour difference aside, I like this one. :D
